Rebuilding after the fire
After a fire consumed their home only a brittle foundation was left. Skytec worked with homeowners to design and build anew. As the new home took shape it was hard not to see a phoenix rising from the ashes.
Skytec worked closely with this couple through the inevitable high emotions from such a traumatic experience and navigated tedious insurance requirements.
Skytec advocated on behalf of these homeowners to ensure they could return home.

Initially the insurance wanted us to build the new home on the remaining foundation. We were unconvinced this would be safe and pursued additional engineering. The engineers deemed the foundation unsuitable to build on.
This became incredibly apparent when demolition began. Not only was there no rebar in the foundation walls, but the foundation walls were not connected to the footings at all.
Adventures of Little Yellow Chair
This chair survived the fire and then came along for the rebuild. Once we noticed how many photos it kept sneaking into it became a little mascot for this project.
Can you spot it in each photo below?
